Homegrown Culinary Star, Devon Hou, Joins Relish as Group Executive Chef with Feste Group

Chef Devon Hou, one of Hong Kong’s most well-known and celebrated names in the food and beverage industry, joins the Feste Group as their new Group Executive Chef.  The Feste Group, owned by female entrepreneur and influencer, Abby Cadman, consists of the two leading catering companies Relish and Gingers.  In addition to overseeing both culinary teams, Hou will also specifically be headlining the kitchen for bespoke events company, Relish.

Having worked at some of the city’s top restaurants including the likes of Amber at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental and Tate Dining Room, and more recently as Head Chef of Test Kitchen and Cobo House, Devon Hou’s Michelin star-studded résumé emanates innovation and creativity.  Her 18 years of experience, including a stint in London’s The Goring Hotel in 2015, has sharpened her senses while still leaving a playful curiosity about what other flavours there are to discover.

“I was immediately drawn to Devon and her cool, calm, and collected persona. Her experience and expertise spoke for themselves and her creativity when cooking was effortless. I love her passion for her art and the ideas she has for the future of the businesses,” says Cadman, Director of Relish.

“I can’t keep calm. I have this drive to challenge and push myself out of my comfort zone.  I knew that joining Relish would do that for me,” says Hou.  “While the fine dining aspect is familiar to me, this is events and food on an entirely new level and I’m looking forward to seeing where this adventure will take me.”

Hou has already begun to add her spin to Relish with their new seasonal menus and updates to the Relish classics.  People can expect to see her signature plating style begin to pop up in their events.

After a temporary pause in operations due to COVID’s fifth wave in Hong Kong, Relish is now back and ready to hit the ground running, especially with their new star Head Chef.  Founded in 2005, Relish began as a modern catering company focused on fresh, seasonal produce influenced by cuisines all around the world.  Since then, they have evolved into a “concept to completion” events and catering company that specialises in decor, production, and event planning with exceptional food at its core.  

In 2020, Relish moved to Wong Chuk Hang, now with its own unique indoor and outdoor venues – the perfect space to host a multitude of events. From canapés to cocktails, and intimate dinner parties to lavish weddings, Relish does as little or as much as you require with flair and finesse.
